In our house we have something we call the 8 o'clock phenomenon. It doesn't seem to matter what has gone on during the day, we could have had children arguing and fighting, others saying they're too tired to do any work and general pure mess making but come 8 o'clock when we think they should all be heading to bed a transformation occurs. A calm descends and they all become industrious and harmonious to the point where we think we can't interrupt them and break the spell and then yet another late night ensues!
